（中央社華盛頓7日綜合外電報導）白宮表示，美國總統歐巴馬今天致電前國務卿希拉蕊?柯林頓（HillaryClinton），恭喜她取得足夠黨代表票成為民主黨總統候選人。
根據路透社，白宮發言人厄尼思特（Josh Earnest）在聲明中說：「她的歷史性選戰啟發千千萬萬的人，更擴大她在為中產階級家庭和兒童而戰的畢生奮鬥。」
厄尼思特也表示，歐巴馬也與民主黨總統參選人桑德斯（Bernie Sanders）聊過，9日將應桑德斯要求在白宮與他會面。
厄尼思特說：「總統感謝桑德斯藉由承諾對抗經濟不平等、打擊特殊利益在我們政壇的影響力等議題，激勵眾多美國人民。」1050608
